semi-analytical solution for static and forced vibration problems of laminated beams through smooth fundamental functions method

Pure Lagrangian and Semi-lagrangian Finite Element Methods for the Numerical Solution of Convection-diffusion Problems
In this paper we propose a unified formulation to introduce and analyze (pure) Lagrangian and semi-Lagrangian methods for solving convection-diffusion partial differential equations. This formulation allows us to state classical and new numerical methods. Several examples are given. We combine them with finite element methods for spatial discretization. One of the pure Lagrangian methods we int...
متن کاملA semi-Lagrangian Crank-Nicolson algorithm for the numerical solution of advection-diffusion problems
[1] We present a hybrid method for the numerical solution of advection-diffusion problems that combines two standard algorithms: semi-Lagrangian schemes for hyperbolic advection-reaction problems and CrankNicolson schemes for purely diffusive problems. We show that the hybrid scheme is identical to the two end-member schemes in the limit of infinite and zero Peclet number and remains accurate o...
متن کاملSubsmooth semi-infinite and infinite optimization problems
We first consider subsmoothness for a function family and provide formulas of the subdifferential of the pointwsie supremum of a family of subsmooth functions. Next, we consider subsmooth infinite and semi-infinite optimization problems. In particular, we provide several dual and primal characterizations for a point to be a sharp minimum or a weak sharp minimum for such optimization problems.
